Verizon Launches Cell TV

Well, it's happened. Prepare for the end of civilization. TV comes to cell phones. Not only do we have to deal with morons blabbing on their phones while they drive, most too stupid to get some sort of hands-free thing going (though it doesn't matter, the majority can't chew bubblegum and breathe simultaneously), but now they'll be watching TV while they drive.

I can see it now.

"I'm sorry officer, but I only stopped for a second to see if Tyra was really going to squeeze Katherine McPhee's breasts".

Verizon kicks off cell phone TV

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Verizon Wireless, the second-biggest U.S. cell phone provider, said it launched the country's first commercial mobile television service in 20 states with full-length programs and picture quality similar to regular TV.

The venture of Verizon Communications Inc. and Vodafone Group Plc said on Thursday it is charging $15 a month for the service, which was developed by Qualcomm Inc. unit MediaFlo and includes eight channels broadcasting full-length TV shows to phones 24 hours a day.
